Op here and yeah. We were going to leave for our vacation a little early but now I'm like, eh I don't have time to take tomorrow off anyway. We'll just leave Saturday morning and the sitter will come Monday night to feed her. Like I said, still not ideal but better.

+1 I wouldn’t think twice unless your cat is unusually neurotic. If possible, make sure the cat has a view out of various windows.

Thanks, everyone. I really do not know anyone in my building and I really trust our usual sitter so I am just going to leave a day late. This way she will only be home from Saturday at lunch to Monday evening. Still not ideal but better.

A lot of cats are not interested in company other than their preferred human. Cat will be fine.

I wouldn't do it, personally...no more than I would a dog. I tried it once with a cat, long ago, and sure, she was alive when I got back but it negatively affected her in other ways.

Our neighbors ask us to drop by and cuddle with their cat, and check on the litter box, food and water, for a bit every day. You could do that, but really, most cats will be fine.

Put out some extra dry food as well. I had a friend who left her cat alone for three days and her automatic feeder unexpectedly broke shortly after she left.

We do this fairly regularly. Cat will be fine, physically and mentally.

It's a cat. she will be fine for a couple of days. Leave the TV on NatGeo or something if you think she will be lonely.

Also -- shut the doors to everything except main area. One my kittens shut themselves in a bedroom overnight when we had a cat sitter. someone rough and tumbled into the door and then they were stuck. They were fine, though -- but wouldn't have been for Fri-Mon.

Depends on your definition of ok. Will she be alive and physically well for that length of time? Sure. Is it mean to leave a cat alone for over 48 hours with no companionship… yes.

Leave an extra litterbox too if you can. She should be fine.

I am going on vacation afternoon! Regular cat sitter isn't available until Monday. Okay to leave cat alone from noon Friday to Monday evening? She has an automated feeder and I would leave out several bowls of water in various locations so that if she has a spill, she's not out of water for two days.
