I had partial previa that resolved itself. They told me I would need a C-section if it didn't move, but there didn't seem to be any other concerns.

OP here. Just following up on this. My doctor said I could continue going on business as usual and not worry about anything unless I notice any bleeding, then we’ll reassess. I’ll go back for another anatomy ultrasound at 32 weeks to make sure the placenta has moved up.

I had a low lying placenta and was put on pelvic rest. The hardest thing was that I also had an 18 month old so I had to “limit” picking him up. Right….

It resolved itself by the 32 week ultrasound but I had a scheduled c anyway (just my preference).

I was diagnosed with placenta previa at 20 weeks. It eventually resolved. If it didn’t, I would have had a c section at 37 weeks. Until it resolved, I was on pelvic rest, which meant no sex with penetration, no intense lifting/exertion, and to call the emergency line immediately if I experienced bleeding.

Mine was low (under 2cm) at 16 weeks and stayed low until 24 weeks. It moved slightly, like from 1.4 to 1.6 until 22 weeks and then suddenly jumped up to 4+cms.

The only concern was that if it didn't move up, I'd have a c section.

I had a low lying placenta and my OB said it cannot turn into placenta previa. It can only grow in one direction, away from the cervix. So that shouldn't be a worry.

Mine had resolved by my 28w followup. My OB said if it doesn't resolve by the time of delivery, you need to have a C-section.

I had a complete placenta previa that resolved itself by 28 weeks. I was so freaked out at first (I got put on pelvic rest after my 20 week ultrosound and told not to travel outside of the range of medical care just in case) but nothing ever happened and by 28 weeks the placenta had moved completely.

I had low lying placentas twice and it moved twice.

A one off c section isn't a big deal unless you want a lot of kids, then it can become a big deal. Once you've had one it can be hard to stop having them. Complication rates from 2 are roughly the same but it starts taking off at #3 and goes up from there.

I had placenta previa, and ended up in bed rest. At the time it seemed so shocking and awful, but ultimately I had a scheduled c-section, and healed and baby was always totally fine and now it’s a distant memory. It’ll be ok, whatever your doctor says!

I had vasa previa, more rare than placenta previa. I'm super lucky my OB- GYN was at G'town, a teaching hospital.
Make sure to find out if that placenta has moved. My placenta sat on top of my uterus, I couldn't have any contractions so I was hospitalized for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy and had to have a c-section.

FTM. Just had the 20 week anatomy ultrasound. Most everything looked good according to the ultrasound tech but it was mentioned that I have a low lying placenta. I was told the placenta naturally moves up 90% of the time once I get further along but I’ll need to come back for another scan in 8+ weeks to confirm. Meeting with my OB next week, which I’m sure he will tell me more, but I made the mistake of googling it and it can develop into placenta previa if it doesn’t move up and stop blocking the cervix.

Hopefully, I’m part of the 90% but has anyone been in the 10% where placenta previa develops? What did you need to do in your third trimester? How did labor go?

Should I be doing anything now before I meet with my OB? I’ve been doing some light weight strength training and prenatal yoga and am wondering if I should give it a break before I meet with my appointment.

Trying not to worry about it since I don’t think there’s anything I can really do about it but that’s easier said than done.
