Has she talked to her Teacher and asked for help? Has she even contacted her Teacher? Has she asked you for help? Is she even concerned?

Not OP, but 75% is a pretty low grade. I wouldn't switch classes and can't actually but I'd be concerned if my son got a 75% early in a course when they're likely covering the basics.

Do middle schools offer regular geometry? I don't think OP's DD can change classes. She can't retake Algebra, Honors Geometry is most likely the only geometry class offered at the middle school, and there aren't really any other viable classes.

I would have her continue. If she doesn't do well, she can retake Geometry next year or expunge the grade and move on.

Because she is taking it in middle school, you can have the grade expunged from her high school transcript. Don't tell her that though. Just have her do her best and you can make a decision when you see her final grade.

Be realistic your neighbor is an idiot.

Have your child move down to regular Geometry. She has to take it no matter what might as well get it over with. Have her speak with her counselor tomorrow.

Tutoring now and til the end of the semester if you can afford it.

OMG, OP calm down. At some point, math gets hard for everyone. Everyone, including math majors, math genius and superstars.

It’s really okay that your kid is struggling some. Back off. It’s only been two weeks. Let her advocate for herself. Don’t be that parent that can’t allow her kid to experience any type of challenge.

Get a tutor.

If she continues to struggle you can drop her to regular geometry.

It's only the third week of school. Give her time for it to sink in. Give her extra support if it doesn't sink in on her own. She's going to need to take geometry eventually, so it makes no sense to drop it now. Or just talk to the teacher instead of asking random Internet people for advice.

We are only 2 week in and my 8th grader is already struggling with geometry. I'm not sure what to do, she aced Algebra I because she is an Algebra brained person not a Geomtry one. DH and I are the same way. I could fly through Algebra, Trig and Calc but Geometry gave me trouble. If she dropped, what would she take? Algebra again?? That's not helpful. She doesn't have holes in Algebra.

What is the lowest grade you would let stand? A? A-? B+? B. At what point when the course is finished do you say "we need to take this again. We don't want this ___ on your HS transcript." My neighbor said no less than A. Is that realistic?
