I let my DD use Uber by herself after she'd spent at least a year using it with me. She learned how to answer invasive questions, to never ever tell the driver they were driving her home, where she goes to school, etc. I'd track her ride as she was in, and meet her outside. I also had her climb into a trunk of a car so she could see the safety lever to pull to pop the trunk, and how to shove her foot through the lights if that failed.

The Uber issue is a little different. If it is for your convenience, then I don't think it counts against your DD. If the teens are getting bored in one spot and then all Ubering to another spot, then that's on them.

I don’t make them pay for Uber since it saves me time and money

I don’t make them pay for anything I want them to do.

After that they get $20 week cash

At my house kids get $20/month before age 13 and $40/month 13-18.

No uber.

We will support them if they need help getting to/from jobs.

We also provide car/insurance/gas for those who are driving age.

buses are free in MoCo for all students. That or their bike.

I give my 13 yr old $9/week, and pay them monthly. They also pay for their overage data. The point of an allowance for us is to teach them to budget.

They also get money as gifts from people, and we've taught them to save. They also give to charity - like food drives, xmas presents to low income families, etc.

We started when they were in ES, and we told them that when they get older (teens) they will want to go out with their friends, and when they do, they have to pay for it themselves, so they should use their money wisely, otherwise, they won't be able to have money to go out with their friends.

We generally give the kid's age per week. But it depends on what you expect them to pay for with it.

My 14 and 15 year olds get $15/week for doing some very basic chores. I still buy most of their clothes and give them extra money if they go out to lunch (within reason, not every day). They don't use Uber. I will probably raise the amount to $20 soon.

Mine has very different expectations.

I give mine $100 a month.

What would be a reasonable weekly allowance for a 14 year old. Including eating out and uber rides(with groups). Either myself or my wife is very out of touch with reality.
