We taught our kid in 2/3rd. Same with math tables.

Education cannot be the same as when we were kids. The world is not the same as when we were kids. The job market is not the same as when we were kids. All of these kids need to learn how to type, which, by the way, is also fine motor.

Hell yes, just for fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination alone.

I taught my kids, because it was important to me. There are studies showing that memorization is more efficient when things are handwritten rather than typed, and cursive is the most rapid of handwritings. So when my kids need to take notes, I want them to be able to use paper and ink just as easily as they can type.

Of course. How else will people be able to write formal letters like handwritten thank you notes? It's insane that it's not taught anymore.

There is software that all you do is hold your phone to and it translates or writes cursive for you. We need to be teaching computer science. Then lower income students would qualify for subsidies in technology. Also we'd have less "nerdy" but incompetent engineers and more actual talent-based enrollment.

Yes absolutely. It’s great for the brain, and now kids can’t even read old letters. There’s a whole subreddit on having people translate old cursive letters/documents because young people can’t read them.
