Not me personally but two very close family members do. I don't speak up because it's useless. I've realized the vast majority of posters complaining about these professions have zero clue about the realities of that life and are spouting a lot of media rhetoric or uneducated opinions. Hiding behind anonymous posts allows for a lot of venom we don't hear "in real life."

Every obnoxious teacher basher on here eventually reveals they are a lawyer. No surprise. Lawyers are a dime a dozen in DC so I really don't understand the superior attitude.

Yep on here, these professions are looked down upon: SAHM, realtor, financial advisor, teacher, sugarbaby.

I am a real estate agent who does very well and is well regarded by my clients. If I go to the real estate forum, I usually only respond to people asking worthwhile questions. Sometimes I can' resist responding to the posters who think we have cushy jobs, are overpaid, and are stupid with two simple questions: (1) if it is so easy why aren't you a real estate agent and (2) why did you select a bad agent to represent you

I've only ever had amazing teachers for my kid so I would never treat them that way. But I have seen some posts from people who purport to be teachers on this site that have been very troubling. They could be lying about being teachers (some certainly are) but there are absolutely bad teachers out there and that's why many parents are vigilant about their child's education. You can't always just assume the teacher is going to do the right thing. I have have heard some horror stories of some teacher behavior in this area from friends. Often these are older teachers with old fashioned ideas about education, some of whom can be abusive or follow totally outdated pedagogy.

Anyway, I feel that some parents who come off this way may just have had bad prior experiences.
