We have a week's worth of shorts and polos (or pants and oxfords), plus 1-2 dress outfits per season. every day shoes and dress shoes. A nice sweater and a sweatshirt hoodie. I hate having too much. T-shirts multiply like gremlins so I don't really buy any but they somehow become part of the wardrobe.
I do laundry twice a week. By the end of the season, we no longer have 7 full days of clothes and I can't bear to go shopping again so I pull out a few things from the next size up.

Not op, but I am curious do boys tend to like plain of striped t shirt, sporty t shirt (like Adidas, Nike, umder armor or reebok ) or graphic print to shirt (like popular t cartoon) or word t shirt ( word prints on it)? Same style for summer and winter? And hoodie, sweatshirt, sweater for winter?

I am buying all new clothing for my boy because he outgrows anything. This is for 6-8 year old age group.

that should say, in the past it was a lot.

A lot but they wear the same few pairs of shorts and shirts over and over again, as soon as they are clean. I really paired down this year since they only wear athletic clothes and each currently have about 8 pairs of shorts and tees. Not all make the favorite rotation though.

A lot but I buy on clearance ahead of time and forget what I buy. I usually like 10/12 pair of pants/shorts plus exercise/sleep shorts.

OP here- problem is I love buying them clothes. Have to somehow stop myself.

My son's are mostly all hand me downs (the next door neighbor has two boys a year older than mine) so he has a lot. I try to have enough to go a solid 2 weeks without having to wash his clothing. He probably has 20 shirts and 15 pairs of shorts or pants depending on the season.

If you do a load of laundry a day you could get away with half a dozen pairs of clothes, maybe even less.

I line dry my laundry so I have more like 20.

I always try not to get too many tshirts and shorts but it always ends up way more. Any tips?
