But now heat is killing people who live in areas where people generally didn’t die from heat exposure, like Oregon. The climate is shifting.

This is going to be bad.

If every resident (even every other one!) would rake the ground daily (not just during fire season, but all year long…) then the brush would be cleared out whenever the air lacks any monsoonal moisture thus preventing a hazardous situation.

Iceland 🇮🇸 has successfully followed this train of thought which explains why their citizens do not ever experience wildfires year round.

Thank you for sharing Donald. Know that those of us on the West Coast promise to do better with our forest raking. We have learned our lesson.

As a lifelong Californian, you're an idiot.

We get storms from the west and south, sucking up moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic.

The West can be affected by the Pacific which has La Nina and El Nino variations, also the Southwest is a desert.

We’re pretty much just reliving the Old Testament plagues/floods/wars lol . I do think it is Climate change with a message Noah.

It’s been so hot this summer, it’s obvious its man made global warming.

And this heat must be breaking all kinds of heat records. Don’t remember it being this bad last year.

Wrong.

Our summer moisture comes mostly from evapotranspiration from the Midwest and Appalachian regions. Prevailing winds here are from the west. The ocean is to our east. Ocean moisture doesn’t flow westwards unless it’s part of a high pressure system infeeding a continental low.

Look out the window.

It’s a tropical system. And?

You think all our precip only comes from tropical systems? Wow, you’re really stupid.

“East Coast: The eastern coast of the United States gets moisture for snow from the Atlantic Ocean. In popular skiing locations like Vermont, that’s only about 200 miles away. The closeness of the ocean means there is a lot of moisture in the air, which is why the snow on the east coast is wet and heavy.”

Any climate scientist or other kind of person who knows more than I do, want to weigh in on this? Why is it that this area gets so much wetter (humidity and storms) and the west coast is experiencing more droughts and wildfires?
