Last year I think if you said your kid had a covid test pending when answering the daily screening questions, your kid couldn't go to school until you jumped through some hoops to prove a negative test result (my DH had to go to the school with the negative test result even though we had not tested due to symptoms). Will that protocol be changed for this year?

They have not explained it at all. The page they refer you to is all about how to sign up. Not at all about what kind of testing they are doing, when they are doing it, how often, whether kids are selected randomly from the voluntary pool. Etc. I’m not signing up til I know what I’m signing up for. Communion this is simply awful. Which is too bad. Because if done properly it could really make a difference.

Yes, I'm waiting to sign up until know more. I've had my kids tested a ton with various camps and before seeing grandparents. They HATE IT, even the shallow swab tests. It's a whole production, so not exactly interested in subjecting them to this if they are goign to get pulled out of class. Because I know my kids will make it a 20 min affair.

Also where do they test them? Will they do it outside? or at least in a room with a HEPA filter since they will have kids taking off their masks?

For elem- do they pull the kids out of class every week? Have them go to the school nurse? Do the kids do the tests themselves? Would be nice to have info before signing up.
