Erm. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy? You always have a towel. It’s a joke.

Not really, my son used one last year to read outside on nice days and to eat lunch outside. And they are useful for flagging down an errant space craft in case of planetary destruction, although I am not certain that a first grader is aware of that...

Let’s keep the little kids occupied with screens to make things easier for the teachers.

Why? Why in the world should 1st graders be on screens during a normal school day?

Lexia, dreambox.

So ridiculous. Students shouldn’t be on apps in the classroom. This is a disgrace.

Yes I know, everything APS does is a disgrace /s

It's for a 20 minute center while kids are doing small group work. They would normally stay at school but APS has requested that they are brought home every afternoon in case kids need to quarantine. They want to make sure everyone has access to the activities posted. I'm sure that's not good enough for you either.

WTF are you prattling on about. Have you ever taught first grade? I taught it for years and yes, students used Lexia once a week for 20 minutes and dreambox twice a week for 30 minutes. This happened while I was working with small groups and students were rotating between centers, which included one tech center. Getting 90 minutes of differentiated practice on a computer is not hurting them. I am so tired of hearing from people who know absolutely nothing about education going on and on about it like they have any expertise at all.

I am used to last year when he had to carry supplies back and forth. This year, supplies are being delivered to the classroom.

We aren’t going to pack his iPad unless told to. So… masks, lunch, emergency change of clothes? Am I forgetting something obvious? Seems empty after being overloaded last year!
