Agree with the other poster. Sign up with some banks and agencies and you can see pictures. You can also get initial consults with some of the agencies about how they recommend choosing or would help you to pick. I used Fairfax Egg Bank and picked a donor from their site. I was surprised at the whole process - I feel like there were less donors than the clinics make it sound like there are.

Also, check out Parents Via Egg Donation https://www.pved.org/. They have great tips on the entire process. I know that it can be a stressful process. Good luck to you!

We gave them a list of things that were important to us (mostly a rough approximation of my physical characteristics) and some baby pictures of me. We said yes both times (and have three kids from those two donors).

They say that they don’t show you pictures of the donor to avoid “the Starbucks problem,” meaning that you are always looking at women in public places and trying to figure out if she could be the donor.

Our kids are amazing so I think their process works.

Do they resemble you?
Did you get to choose ethnicity as well? I have a mix of ethnicities and was wondering if they can match that or at least some major ones.

Check out some egg banks and/or agencies - it's free to sign up and browse. No one really matches you - you can browse profiles and select, like online dating. Frozen DE seems a lot easier and faster, but we are using an agency because we want a donor with my ethnicity, which were few and far between in the egg banks.

You are paying, so you get to pick whatever you want. I did frozen DE and we could see a couple of adult pictures of the donor.

Just curious what is the process like. How do you get to pick? Do they match you based on your nationality, eye color, education etc?

Do you get to see the photo?
