But yeah, it’s not good, and it’s especially bad if you are doing it to your kids and indoctrinating them into it. I find it helpful to think about social media the way I think about alcohol. It can be fun and even beneficial in moderation, but I don’t want to feel reliant on it, or have it dictate how I live my life, of be using it so much that it poses a threat to my health and well being.

Yes, I just scroll by. But, seriously what is the point? Perhaps it’s what PP said—they’re using it as a scrapbook/memory keeper.

What I really don’t understand is the people who feel the need to document their entire lives and post about it. Yes, your child started school. We don’t need to see them before, during, after. One person is documenting every damn thing her child is doing on vacation so she may post 6 things per day - 2 posts per child. The trip isn’t even interesting or exotic. I may understand if it is Hawaii or Europe or Asia. It is a local beach trip. So boring.
So unfriendly them, block them, or silence their posts for 30 days. You could get off social media completely.
People go through things, people use social media for different things, people are people.
I guess people could look at your post and say : why do people feel the need to post about every irritation in their lives that they could self manage? What I really done understand is the people who go running to a board about these minor annoyances issues order to garner some kind of crowd support for every little blip they could either ignore or do something about in their lives
