No, you could raise much more on your own. I know, we discussed these things at an annual Maryland PTA meeting. And no, the kids don't have fun. Boosterthon is a horrible concept based on egging kids on, and making them feel bad when they don't raise enough. Of course you don't see the psychological harm it does, kids won't tell you. All you see is their brain-washed little selves jumping through hoops to raise money to give to a for-profit company. They take up to 50% of the proceeds, for goodness sakes! That's highway robbery.
