I can't keep my dog inside forever. Any way to get rid of the owl? Dog will always be small btw--it's a terrier.

You CAN take your dog outside. You just have to keep him on a LEASH.

NP. Well that's a joke. Most people use their backyards for some exercise. Going out to pee/poop on a leash forever is not sustainable.

NP so what about people who don't have a backyard? What do you think they do?

Well, I live in a condo with no backyard so I am very familiar with what we do. Doesn't mean if I DID have a backyard I would be cool with basically not being able to use it freely.

Your dog is about 15lbs too big to be of concern as prey to a Great Horned. He’ll be fine.

If you have a jerk owl, use bright lights, noise makers, and the like to irritate them. But don’t complain later that you have mice, rates, and voles, because those are who he’s after. He could GAF about your ginormous dog.

Thank you! This is OP and it's a new dog and never had horned owl around before. I am terrified my dog is going to get attacked by this owl b/c of their increased presence on our property.

Look up “Scare Tape” on amazon. It’s made for exactly these types of situations.
