This is my understanding, too, that it's essentially two completely different populations that don't intermix much. We live in North Reston, zoned for Herndon High, and will have no concerns about sending our kids there when the time comes. Our neighbors are very happy with the school, both parents and students. We have had a few neighbors who've moved to Great Falls for Langley before their kids reached high school, but we love our neighborhood and we love living in Reston, so we won't be doing that. If your kids are decent students, they should do very well at Herndon. It seems to be a good, supportive community.
