OP here. No teen pregnancies in our community (at least not publicly or at school). She is not dating that I know of.

Is she serious or passing? It was passing for me. I went into education. Been teaching for over a decade, haven’t given birth yet, still love tiny humans.

No one does. That’s why the 17 year old is saying she wants a baby. She figures her parent will go against reason and get a puppy to shut down this baby talk. How is this twisted reasoning not clear to you? Ask for something crazy and overboard to get the “less crazy” thing.

Yep. Let her take on a job as weekend nanny for the entire school year and bonus - have her overnight babysit for a week while the parents are away.
