Go ahead and propose. It doesn't need to be on a trip. Plan something nice, propose somewhere pretty. Lots of options if you are in DC. One of the monuments, the Cathedral grounds, etc.

*You might be asking why he didn't propose in the balloon - the answer is it's a tight space, with the balloon operator and the other people (who were strangers) right there with you.

Call up a local winery assuming you are in the dc area and they will make it magical! I like Greenhill because they are adults only. Stay the night at a little Inn or something out there and enjoy a nice long weekend. Don’t hold off on proposing, it will be nice to have something to look forward to after this sucky two years.

Do you have any sentimental spots? Maybe where you first kissed? Where you first knew it was more permanent? That might even be more romantic. No time like the present, you can always do a "vow renewal" when pandemic lets up. And congrats!

We were supposed to go to Philly for a weekend away and he was going to surprise me with an engagement but it got snowed out. We ended up taking a nice walk in the snow (our third date was a walk to the monuments in the snow, so it was reminiscent of that) and he proposed in a park near our condo. It was lovely. Propose!!!

My DH asked me out of the blue over dinner at my house. My lease was ending in few months and I needed to find a new place and he had a better idea. A much better idea!

I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend early next month. I had plans to take her on a nice vacation and propose, but I decided to a cancel the vacation with the pandemic still going on and things shutting down again. I’m not sure if I should still propose at home or at a restaurant, or wait until things are better? She does not know anything specific or about the vacation, but we have discussed getting engaged, so she does know it will happen soon. Any advice is appreciated.
