I was once pulled over for not coming to a full stop. I told the officer that I knew I came to a full stop as my parents were riding with me, so of course I wouldn't be a scofflaw with them in the car. He went back to his car with my license to run it. I said to my parents, "do you believe this?" And my dad then said, "well, let's hope that he doesn't ask for my opinion as we are at odds."

You need to make a complete stop behind the stop line. When you make a complete stop, you feel the momentum of your vehicle change and your back pushes into the back of your seat.

A lot of people go slowly approaching the stop and slow further at the stop line. It feels to them like they made a stop but their wheels never stop rolling. All of the video “evidence” at the Kansas and Buchanan stop sign that I saw showed vehicles that never stopped. They were moving very slowly, but they were definitely moving.

The people here being snarky are horrible internet trolls. This stop sign camera is infamous. If you stop fully a single inch over the line you get a ticket

Actually that Petworth camera was faulty and DDOT didn't care. People were stopping for seconds then driving and still getting tickets.

There’s a stop sign in Petworth that drivers insist they stop for. Some have even posted video “proof” of them stopping. In every case, they’re slowing down cautiously but not making a complete stop. It’s a complete stop only if the front of your vehicle is behind the stop line (not the x-walk) and the momentum totally stops. If you’re having trouble gauging a stop, feel for when your back touches the back of your seat. Then look right and left.

Did they send it to your home? Yes, there was a thread. Now I film myself going through it. Not sure how they get your tag number if there is a car right behind you. I drive there constantly and I'm surprised I haven't received a ticket yet. I though it was a speed camera.

Not sure about a thread but there was a big deal about one at Kansas and Buchanan I think. DDOT was unapologetic that the law required a complete stop before the crosswalk even when there was video evidence of full stops before the cross walk and then ticketed when having to proceed into the cross walk slowly to see oncoming traffic. It read it as a new car I guess.
