Today was my due date, and I honestly expected the baby would have been born by now as my first was 1.5 weeks early.
Earlier in the summer they said they wanted to host a get-together (like a post-baby shower) and we settled on early September. I thought, "the baby will be at least a month old, that will be perfect!"
Now that I'm looking at the calendar and I feel like time is ticking... I feel nervous that if I go another week or two (I'm committed to doing my best to have a natural delivery again with midwives, even if that means going up to 42 weeks), that means the baby would be 2 weeks or 3 weeks old when they have the party... and there's no way I want to do that.
I remember my first was born the week before Thanksgiving and people wanted us to get together and I just wanted to... sleep.
What would you do?
An in person get together with a 2 week old at the height of the Delta spike?
No, you need to cancel.
