Mine are a week apart. It's not a big deal. They are both in elementary school now.

Our younger kid, who has the second birthday, tends to get EXTREMELY impatient for his birthday once the older sibling's birthday comes, but it is what it is. At least by that time his birthday is right around the corner, not 6 months away.

In practice it just turns into a solid week of birthdays. Like it will be the older kid's actual birthday, so we do our immediate family gifts and special dinner. Then older kid's party. A joint family thing with the grandparents. Younger kid's actual birthday with immediate family gifts/dinner. Younger kid's party.

We didn't time it that way on purpose, but it's been fine. I kind of like having our little 8 day birthday festival every year.

Don't worry about this. My niece and nephew are within a week or two of each other and it's a non-issue.

My kids have birthdays the same week (3 years apart in age). It’s totally fine right now! As they get older if they want to more do their “own things” for their birthdays, we can cross that bridge when we come to it. My husband and my SIL also have birthdays a week apart (5 years apart in age with a middle sibling in the middle) and it was never an issue for them growing up either.

OP, don't go looking for extra things to worry about! Just try for a baby, and enjoy it when it happens.

I gave birth to twins on Christmas Eve. They’ve never had their own separate birthdays and they’ve never been able to have their friend birthday party on their actual birthday, and every birthday party has been a joint celebration. They’re teenagers now and they’re totally fine. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

75% of my family has birthdays in the same week in August. It makes it fun because kids have their own friend parties and then we have a big dinner or outing for all the birthday people. It makes it easier to juggle because you can have the extended family gather on the weekend before or after. When we were younger, the kids got separate small cakes, but now we just do one big one.

PP to add: I'm 39. When I was growing up there was not a concept of a "birthday week" or "birthday month" or "IT'S LEO SEASON!!1!" so that probably helped. Your birthday was a day. As we got older if we wanted parties or to do something special, his would be planned for the preceding weekend and mine for the following.

Totally fine. We do a family joint party on the weekend and a special individual thing on the actual dates.

6 days apart. It’s fine. This is a silly thing to even think about. All could go well and you could deliver early or late.

Yes - mine share a birthday week and it’s not a big deal at all. They asked to have a small outdoor party together to celebrate this year and they are in ES. It’s really a non issue out of all the issues you could have.

Both of my kids share a birthday week and my brother and I did as well. I guess it’s just normal for us but it was never a big deal.

Just try now. You’re not going to get pregnant the first time and on the off chance that you do it’s NBD.

After taking some time off after a miscarriage we are ready to start trying again but if I were to get pregnant this month I would likely give birth the week of my son's birthday. Does anyone have birthdays really close together and he's fine? I don't want them to resent having to share a birthday week, but on the other had there are way bigger problems in life. Also no guarantees I will get pregnant which is why we want to start trying again sooner than later.
