In our area, it was difficult to find inventory for new cars at any dealers. We bought a 2020 with baby miles on it from carmax and have been very happy with it.

PP here who always buys used. I did a quick search, and it your case you may be better off to buy new as all the PPs are saying. The 2020 Accords are almost as much as the 2021s.

I'm shopping for a used car as well, and with what I'm looking for, it's still much better to go used. It really depends on the car/year.

Carmax and Carvana charge a premium. For example, I was offered $10K for my car from several dealers. Carvana paid me $15.5k and then sold the car for $18k.

So I would go to Autotrader and find the best price there from a dealer. Go test drive it. Then email them later to start the negotiation process. Accords are everywhere, so you may try a few places and just narrow it down to the best option. You can use Carvana as a baseline, but assume you can find a better price by a few grand at a dealer.

We have always bought used cars and have done very well from a depreciation standpoint (averaging around $1k per year). Always check the Carfax report: look for a one-owner, personal use, no accident car that was dealer services for those initial years. Many people right now are trading cars in, simply because they can get a good price--not because there is anything wrong with their car. Also look at the cost of buying new to make sure the financials add up.

I love this website: https://caredge.com/depreciation

It will tell you the best year Accord to buy to avoid the steep decline. I put in Honda Accord and it recommends 2020.

Why? You have no
Idea what’s wrong with the car. Maybe it was wrecked? Who gets rid of a 1 year old Honda? The price is probably very close to new and you can’t get good finance rates. Just buy new.

Th e used car market right not is very tight. Try CarMax or certified pre-owned from Honda dealers.

In a crunch (long story) and need to buy a car the next week or so. I've always bought new and would like to get a very slightly used car, as I understand that is the better play financially (so I'm told). Thinking of getting a 2020 Honda Accord. Any tips on buying a used car? It does make me a little nervous.
