My boss asked me this pre-Covid & I never had any issue w/it.

The parents also washed their hands upon coming home so I didn’t feel they singled me out.

Oh, come on! It’s common sense. Do you also need to tell her at hiring that washing her hands after using the bathroom is also required?

OP, just tell the nanny that with the new variant, you need her to wash her hands when she comes in the house and wash her hands and the kids hands whenever they come home.

And, God yes! to the paper towels. Nothing is grosser than the whole family and guests using one hand towel.

You should have told when hiring her that washing hands when she arrived was the first thing she did.

Yes, generally, but often my toddler runs to her before she gets a chance. She drives to work and lives alone so I’m not too concerned.

Of course you can suggest it to your nanny. Just say, “Now that we’re getting into cold and flu season, I put a box of disposable towels in the powder room for all of us to wash our hands when we come in from outside”.

PS. Make sure you do have either separate cloth hand towels for each person or those disposable ones.

I don’t know if that’s an annoying request, but again really trying to minimize sickness and teach the kids to wash their hands.

Same issue but I just asked her eventually. It was awkward but it really bothered me so I said I bought special antibacterial soap that she should use when she arrives.

I just cannot with the women on this thread concocting ridiculous stories to avoid asking for what they want. I cannot. How do you function like this? Isn’t it exhausting??

If you want her to do this you need to ask. She can’t read your mind.

Yes because he takes public transit to get to our house.

I wash my hands when I arrive in the morning and several times throughout the day. Kids do too at my request. Even before Covid.
