OP, you should have seen an endo years ago. This is the height of my 11 year old boy and he is the shortest of all his friends. Probably not much you can do now but I’d still make an appointment with an endocrinologist.

The internet says 2 years after menarch but I think my almost 15 year old isn’t quite done even though it’s been over 2 years since menarch. I say that because she had reason to get X-rays recently. A year ago the growth plates were “wide open” and now they are starting to close. So I don’t know for sure if she is done but the ortho thought she might still grow a bit. She grew at least 4 inches since she started her period.

Depends on whether she has her period. Does she have an eating disorder? Sometimes improving nutrition gets them a little more growth.

I would say she is done growing, especially if she has had her period for a couple years. I was done growing by 12 or 13, I'm 5'5"

Most girls stop growing in height by mid teens.

Two years after menarche

You can take her in to get a bone age x-ray that will show whether she has any more growing to do. My guess is that she might grow another inch, but she will not get close to 5 feet.

I stopped growing at 11 and I'm 5'5". I have a younger sister around the same height and another sister who is 5'11". Parents are 5'7" and 6'2".

How tall are you? How tall is your DH?

I think DD is done growing at 19 (around 5”3) but she measured at 5”2 during high school.

My husband is 5ft 5 and I'm 5ft 3.

I would get her to an endocrinologist. There are growth shots. Not sure if it's too late but worth checking!

I randomly grew an inch 1st year of college. 5’9” to 5’10”. I probably had been 5’9 for a couple years at that point.

Rule of thumb is Girls stop growing two years after their first period. There are exceptions of course.

What does her doctor say? 4’9” at 17 is unusually short. Are you and DH average height?
