Because the teachers still have to get paid, the daycare still has to pay its rent, water and electricity, because they still have a spot in the school, because they have to pay for maintenance and upkeep of the premises, because they have to pay the cleaning people, because the school paid for a deep clean of their room while they were out, etc….
I could go on, but I’m so sick of hearing this mentality from parents. Daycare/preschools have razor thin margins and loosing 10-12 children’s tuition for 2 weeks because of something they can’t control can drown these smaller centers. I get you either have to take off work or hire help and that’s really frustrating/financially trying, but the daycare isn’t shutting down for laughs.
