I have two friends who are single moms by choice and both had their babies at 40, so I would assume that's around when they gave up.

I actually didn't date or kiss anyone until I was a senior in college so I empathize with late bloomers and the overlooked!

How old were you when you had your daughter? Did you become a single mother by choice? I struggle with this because I want to be a mom too and I have thought about going at it alone, but I'm not certain that's the right choice for me so motherhood is pretty much off the table for me now. I really don't know if I can cope with another decade of dating.

Considering I have made it 37 years, nearly 2 decades of that as an adult, single I know very well that I'm perfectly fine single. Is it so wrong to want a life partner though and be a bit frustrated that it's not happened for you yet? It isn't that I don't enjoy life or that I'm desperate, it's the frustration and being completely baffled by what I am doing wrong.

My DD is getting married for the first time at 48. She met him during the pandemic. I was married at 48 for the first time too.

I was never ever looking. Totally fine without one. I met someone when I was 46 & we've been happily married for 20 years. But I would be perfectly fine if it had turned out otherwise, too.

Enjoy what you have, and make sure that you're not giving off the vibe of quiet desperation.
