Nemacolin, tried to be fancy, it isn’t all that.

Massanutten?

+1. We booked a very spacious house for ~$225 a night. Indoor/outdoor waterpark. Grass tubing. Escape rooms. Lots of great hiking/biking. Golf if your family is into that.

I was going to recommend this as well. Not so far from Nemacolin. Check it out. Tons of activities I think your boys would enjoy and not so fancy.

Wintergreen has summer tubing, a pool, mini golf, an indoor obstacle course and hiking. Stayed for about $200 a night in a condo recently.

Can you stay offsite to Nemacolin but book their activities?

OP here, thanks for the suggestion. I've never been but I always thought of that as a great place for younger kids. Is there much fun for a 16 and 21 year old? I'll go check out their website now.

I'm a newly single mom of two boys (high school and college-aged) and was looking for a long weekend getaway that's driveable (4 hours tops) for me and my kids. I had never heard of Nemacolin but came across it while searching for trip ideas. The activities look amazing (summer tubing, jeep-off roading, archery tag, laser tag, cosmic bowling, paintball, pools, rock climbing, etc) however it's a bit fancy and frankly out of my budget. Are there any other resorts that offer such great activities for older kids but have more affordable accommodation options? I can't do 1k a night for a room plus pay for the fun eperiences.

I was thinking of just going the easy way and doing a weekend at one of the nearby beaches, but thought I'd ask here in case anyone has any ideas for me.
