Amazon has been very desperate to hire lately and they have really increased their pay if you are interested. My friend also a software engineer for sign-on bonus of total $200k in first two years.

not PP, TC (Total comp) = base+bonus+RSU

I started at one of the FAANGs in the area right before covid, and my RSU has skyrocketed. I would say for tech people their salaries are a joke compared with their stocks

DH is a data engineer, makes $110,000 + 20% bonus (if company meets targets). He did a career change so this is only his 4th year in the industry

Wife: SDE at FAANG, TC $240K, age 25

We are in DC in case anyone asks if those are Bay Area rate.
