It’s a “bribe” to give funds so parents can get to and from the meeting? Ok.

$100 to get to the mtg? Where are they coming from?

Yes, it’s a bribe. A payment to induce people to behave the way the payor wants them to. Whether you think that’s ok is another argument.

I really don’t care.

Sign me up. Where is this meeting?

PAVE has an annual report available on their website with a list of their supporters

Again, I have no opinion about them one way or the other but was curious after reading this thread.

I don't actually disagree with giving people money to come to a meeting. Our school had some kind of "focus groups" or something in the spring. Who do you think went? Not me, LOL. But from what I heard it was the same old rich whiny complainers that always show up for everything. If you want to actually hear from a diverse constituency, give people a reason to come.

I just like to know who the deep pockets are. Obviously Walton has an agenda. They're pro-charter, pro-voucher, anti-union. I don't know what their agenda is in this particular focus group is.

It's actually fairly common for organizations trying to connect with under-resourced families to provide incentives to participate. And, while I have no connection to PAVE or opinion about what they do, they receive funding from a lot of well-respected sources. I wouldn't write off just because WFF is involved.

Well that explains it. I don't trust anything sourced to those crooks.

How are they “crooks”?

They also have a habit of telling schools and PTA/PTOs that they will give moment if they do x,y,z then move the bar. Idk, if it was just our rep & manager but they were not easy to work with and frustrated families

As I said on another thread, always identify who is paying for what, no matter your political beliefs.

One of their main goals is to reach hard to reach parents and engage disengaged parents. So, okay by me.

Who is bankrolling PAVE to give out all the incentives lately?

What do people think about this?

“Parents: Make your voice HEARD! Join PAVE at an upcoming Community Conversation to share what’s on your heart as we prepare for the next school year. All participants will receive a $100 Uber gift card (which is good for either a ride or food) as a thank you!“
