Boys always have pockets for phones, retainers, masks, etc.

No, and my teens are actually good about keeping track of their masks. They lose other things, but masks aren't an issue.

My kids used mask lanyards for the first part of last year (we were in school all year) but then stopped wearing them the second half of the year. They aren't a chocking hazard as we have the break away kind. Ultimately, they decided that they didn't them.

Train him to wear his mask around his wrist when not in use, or designate a pocket.

+1

This is what my tweens/teens do also. I had actually purchased lanyards for them last summer thinking they would use them at school but they never wanted to.

Or just tie a string or elastic band around the back of your regular mask. That way, you can pull it down to wear around your neck if you want. Then pull back up when necessary. This is what I do for my kids.

Buy a bunch of disposable surgical masks and don't worry about it?

I've never seen anyone use one, definitely not the teens at our school, which was in person with masks for nearly the whole year. I mean, they aren't allowed to take them off, so what use is a lanyard? Even after the few minutes eating, they won't be allowed to go anywhere without the mask back on, so they aren't going to leave it behind.

I am buying some for an upcoming Disney trip. I don't care if my kids think they look stupid. I want them to have quick access to their masks anytime they are indoors or as much as possible outdoors in crowds (even though I know it's going to be tough).

NO! I work at a MS and no one wears them. I know I wouldn't.

I don't want to replace lost masks all the time so I think a lanyard could be useful. I use them myself at work but would this be okay for a teen?
