20 minutes is short but this will be highly variable depending how many screens/windows you have and maybe how many floors to trek up and down.

Sorry folks the 1990s are over. The new full screens are super see through. We bought new full screens with new windows in 2019. Literally unless you go very close cant see the screen at all. No more bugs stuck between glass and screen with old half screen.

I prefer half. Ive only had them in a rental but i could move the screen up and down so i could still open either the top or bottom of the window. This gives you get the a bug free option twhile still having a screen free view for half the window.

Of course they do! They love flies spitting on their food.

Full screen. Two options to open for vent - top or bottom half of double hung. Another plus is if you have a hardwired Sec system, you can open the top and still activate the security system. As one of the pp states half is sub standard. For venting go full screen. Otherwise remove everything.

Maybe I'm alone in this but I don't like screens. I like how clean and clear the windows look without them. We remove all of ours and keep them in the garage or basement. I have a screen on strategic windows during fall or spring to get air flow.

Same window configuration. went with half screens so that I don't have to look through the screen for the bottom sash when the window is closed. Better view overall. The main reason for full screen is if you plan to open both the top sash and bottom sash at the same time, which we don't plan to do.

Also, we have one window now with a full screen where the screen keeps popping out. Never had that issue with a half screen. But this could be just that window/screen.

1/2 screens.

We are installing new double hung windows. The top half will have divided lites. I can't decide if we should do half screens or full screens. Which do people generally prefer?
