Your doctor should give you instructions. My retrieval instructions specified a window of time during which DH should take care of himself to optimize sperm count. Having sex while on stims may be risky (tender ovaries, risk of oregnancy, etc).

He should ejaculate that week but not too close to retrieval day. Our doctor told us 3 days before should be the last ejaculation.

I'm the same PP. One tip -- you can freeze a round of sperm as a backup, just in case there are any issues day-of. Helps with peace of mind as well.

I don't see how this could affect anything re IVF.

I say this kindly because I have been there, including both IVF and a D&C following a miscarriage. You are understandably very anxious. Try to make se time for self care and for quality time with your spouse. It's a hard road. Wish you luck, OP.

My DH and I haven't had sex since December. We got pregnant, and I had a bad miscarriage resulting in a terrible D and C. We are starting the IVF process now, and still haven't had sex. Life happened and things got busy. I am worried this will impact our embryo outcome. We are going to have sex a couple times this week up until our retrieval. Do you think we screwed ourselves over and should push our retrieval? I would appreciate honest and kind comments. Thanks.
