+1 for more. We have hundreds and they get so much play time because we can build like castles big enough for kids to sit in, etc

This. Any extender sets we buy are mostly ignored. More magnatiles are what my kids are into. They like the regular-sized and large squares the best, followed by the small triangles.

Wheels were a hit in our house, as was the "house" set with the stairs and the stickers. I kind of hate the way the stickers look, but my kid loves putting stickers on things and she likes building houses anyway so it worked.
