100% you are. You are paying but so are the other families. So when you dont show up its affects everyone investment in the team. Theres a difference between an injury/illness or family emergency and a planned weekend trip/event. Dont be selfish your teaching your kids that its ok to skip out on commitments in life.

If you are asking about soccer season schedule in July my guess is you are new to travel soccer and your child is young. With this assumption, your absence will not "hurt the team". The team will survive. Missing a game here or there is not the end of the world. Don't make it a habit but don't expect your weekends to be free during the season either. Don't expect a fall schedule to be released EVER in July.

What you can do is let your coach know now if you have some trouble weekends or days that you can't make. Depending on the league the coaches can do some reshuffling of the schedule and your coach may be able to accommodate or work a bye week in that can help out. It would also give them time to find a guest player if need be. The communication is a two way street.

And even when you have the schedule...there will always be changes due to weather or field conflict, etc.

When you have planned a kid's bday party or trip around the soccer schedule or State Cup game and then the game is rescheduled less than a week before the event. Well, you tried.

This is simple. You play soccer games on weekends. If you have plans, make them, if you happen to miss a soccer game the world will not end.

This is how it is with all leagues.

Pro tip, Holiday weekends will be occupied by tournaments, ask your team manager or coach what tourneys they are planning on attending.

But please, please, please do not pepper this board with complaints about late schedules and how difficult it is to plan. This will never change accept it, make your plans and live life.

We have never had a weekday game, but friends of our had one as a make-up since they couldn't find an open weekend between the two teams.

Yes. In our experience you will also want to wait for your team to confirm. I looked one time online before the season, saw the schedule and thought it was final, but our team manager just hadn't put in teamsnap yet. It changed pretty drastically between the version I saw and the one that was sent out as final.

Anyone know when EDP typically releases the Fall schedule? (We are new to this league.)
