We have never lived anywhere where the kids didn't have their own washrooms. They have never had to share.

My DH and I have always had our own sinks too.

What? Kids sit down to brush their teeth? Wow, never knew that. Mine stand. I stand. Never occurred to me that some people sit. You have to look in the mirror to know where your teeth are?

Ask them. A new stool is cheap.

Kids need a stool to spit, and to get themselves a drink of water, and to wash their hands. But one kid can climb up, put their toothpaste on, and get down, then the other kid can. Then the first kid can climb up, spit, then the second kid down.

The mirror is superfluous.

Of course, there are also other ways to manage this.

This. Do they fight over it sometimes? Sure. But there's nothing they can't fight over sometimes.

Is this seriously a question?

Taking turns is a good skill to learn.

How do they spit out the toothpaste if they aren't over the sink? Not to mention all of the drips that get all over the place if they aren't standing at the bathroom counter.

Stools are also used for hand washing. How do your kids do that themselves if they are too short to reach the faucet?

We had 2 stools because one twin would never let the other use her stool. Even if she wasn't using a stool.

We have 1 stool. Kids take turns using it until they are tall enough to lean into the sink to spit and rinse. My 4.5 year old still uses the stool to brush teeth but not for washing hands.

Our bathroom is small to put 2 stools, and 2 kids need stool to be able to see themselves in the mirror to brush teeth. Right now, sometimes they take turn to use the stool to brush teeth or sometimes both fight to use the stool together to brush teeth or sometimes one decide not to brush teeth, and I don't think that work well for long term. When does kid do not need to use stool to brush teeth? Or should I get a foldable stool so both can brush teeth together. They are 4 and 2.
