That sounds exhausting.

I had a lot of luck with rocking my baby to sleep, then holding him for 20 minutes exactly (watch the clock!) and then putting him in the bassinet. Baby sleep cycles are 45 minutes long, and they are in the deepest point of sleep at the 20 minute mark, so it's a good time to transition them.

I let my babies nap on me til about 10 weeks and then made sure they did at least one bassinet nap per day til they gradually worked up to all of them.

At this point I would say don’t stress, BUT keep trying it periodically, even daily, because you don’t want to stop giving opportunities so then the baby really only can sleep on you or upright.

Our baby refused to sleep in a crib until about 6 moths. We just put her in her car seat for naps.

At 7 weeks, I was still mostly holding my kids for naps. Carriers also work. If they fell asleep in the swing or bouncer, I would just stay nearby and supervise.

It's great that he naps in the bassinet at night! Let him nap wherever he'll sleep during the day.

My son didn’t nap well in his bassinet, crib, or rock n play (before they were recalled) for a long time. I took a lot of long walks or drives with him just to get him to rest during the day. He also napped in my arms. Literally this was the case past six months and naps were a struggle until sleep training finally worked at about a year. No advice but you’re not alone and I think it’s common-ish.

I thought it was bad because their head can drop and cut off their airway? He loves the bouncer so much, it would def be nice if he could nap in there..

Do whatever it takes to get him to nap. Ours would nap in the car seat. There are no bad habits. Just make sure that when he falls asleep, you stop the motion. You don’t want to associate motion with staying asleep.

We have a 7 week old. A few weeks ago, he started refusing to nap in his bassinet. He will sleep in it at night but during the day he wakes up after about 5 minutes and starts freaking out. Or he will just lay in the bassinet and look around, sometimes for an hour or more. He’s a ridiculously alert baby, which seems weird at 7 weeks. Sleeps very well in a carrier, in the car, in his bouncer (but then we move him out as soon as he falls asleep). I’ve done so much research and am trying everything I can. Dark, cool room; sound machine; swaddle, etc. Nothing seems to work. Any recommendations on what to do? Will he grow out of this? The last week or so I’ve basically given up and have just worn him most of the time so he will sleep and won’t get overtired, but I really want him to nap in the bassinet.
