Same. My liberal arts education has served me well.

My husband has a liberal arts degree (math) as do I (English) and let’s just say with our combined HHI we comfortably pay our two kids’ full tuitions at their liberal arts colleges (and we have no family money).

Same in our family.

Middle eastern studies at Emory University

Lots of practical applications with this degree, OP. Strange that wouldn’t occur to you.

No - because he gets to decide, I'm not "letting" him study anything.

But I will encourage him to study liberal arts, and I hope he listens.

Just supplement with a technical minor. Also, excellent writing skills are always in demand.

“Let?”

I just hired a communications major for an $80K job, her first full-time, professional job out of college. She got her degree at a state school.

She had actual writing clips and professional video samples. She had hustled. She didn’t wait around until after her degree to start building her portfolio.

One of my kids DID study liberal arts. She's very well-rounded.

I am unsure if I want to finance a college education if he will come out with only a B.A. in some liberal arts discipline. I'd hate the thought of him suffering with unemployment and a low paid career.

What do you think?
