I go for me and/or my older kids. As long as your young child behaves it is all good.

We love art museums and took my kid early snd often and he loved it as a toddler and preschooler now. We are art collectors and avid art lovers. We stare at art and come up with fun stories and see sculptures and light shows and crushed cars. What’s not to love! As long as you foster that appreciation they’ll be respectful of the pieces and have fun. Just have snacks haha

Toddlers are more entertained by the outdoors, the mall (escalators!)….

Depends on the museum and the child. My daughter adores museums and always has, my other child has zero interest in anything but the kids area at the air and space museum.

One is also the age they get stubborn and want to walk/run a bit. I'd play it by ear, my two year old loves the zoo, for instance.

I think it depends on the child and the museum type. My 1yr old and I were regularly in museums pre COVID, several times a month. Some of those were toddler specific monthly and weekly events. A science museum with large dinos and other animals to view, maybe yes, unless baby is scared. An art museum with flat pictures on the wall, maybe no.

The toddler classes taught parents how to interact with babies in the museum, flat photos..try identifying certain colors..or recurring animals.

No. They have a kids club so kids can play while their grown ups enjoy the museum. The kids get bored.

Unless it’s a kids museum, no. He will want to touch everything

Thinking of getting a year pass (not DC so museums aren’t free) to a large museum in the area. I really enjoy walking around with baby in the stroller now on rainy days now but wondering if it will be as fun once baby is older than 1 and mobile. Will he still like it and should I get the pass? They have a kids club but it’s closed at the moment and unlikely to reopen till kids are vaxxed
