My kid barfed all over car seat and I actually had to buy new harness straps. There was no way to get the smell out safely. Worth every penny.

For the rest of the car, I agree with hiring a detailer.

On a related note…why must necessary items that are prone to getting puked on, like car seats, be so impossible to clean?

My older DD had reflux as a baby, then was prone to motion sickness. We had to disassemble and reassemble that car seat to clean it SO many times. It was awful.

Definitely detailing. After that, get some charcoal bags from Amazon and let them soak in the smell.

Detailing, they can get it out with their tools. I know from experience.

I'm sorry. I don't have any better ideas than what's been said here but this sucks. Until my daughter's allergy was diagnosed well past her 2nd birthday we were dealing with nothing but puke and the worst were the car seat incidents.

Get as much up as you can then go to the pet store and buy natures miracle and a black light. Douse all the affected areas with nature miracle and leave it parked with windows open until it is all evaporated and dried. Take blue light to see if you can still find any hits, then repeat. The nature’s miracle breaks down the enzymes in any natural ingredient to eliminate the smell. It also works on pee, poop, spilled milk, spilled juice, sweat, etc. we had a bottle of nectar explode in our minivan a few weeks ago and nature’s miracle avoided the rotting fruit smell problem.

Me again. I seem to remember he sprayed a bit of enzymatic spray for dogs on the worst spots. Memory's a bit fuzzy, because I've done my best to forget the entire episode...

It happened to us. My son projectile vomited all over his car seat, and it went into every crevice, soaked into the carpets, and the smell was awful. We were on our way to my best friend's house, and I will be forever grateful that her husband disassembled the car seat, threw everything that could fit into his washing machine, and helped me scrub the car. Everything was cleaned that day, but we needed to air out the car for a few days (just emptied it out and kept the windows open).

HELP

Our son threw up in the 3rd row of our Honda Odyssey. He’s in a car seat, but it’s everywhere, such as the crevices between the seats and into the reservoirs where the seat belts go, and between the seats and in between down to the carpet.

We are doing our best, but it still smells SO bad. HELP.
