I have never, ever given a 2nd thought about the gender of a friend or family members child. I am very happy that they are having a child, but who cares whether it’s a boy or a girl? If it is a close friend, my son would play with their daughter, my daughter would play with their son, it just does not matter. And then when the kids get older they make their own friends anyway. In generally, I think "gender" (it's actual sex!) reveal parties are super yucky. Lots of stereotyping and weirdness that is not my jam. Football or tutus? Pink or blue? Dolls or trucks? Um. The fact that people really want to put their kids in a box like this before they're even BORN is crazy to me.
But having a party like this when you have a strong PREFERENCE for one gender over another and actually can be potentially disappointed? That's insane. RSVP no for sure.
