OP I only got cooked sushi when I ordered it, but given the toxins in all seafood and fish, ESPECIALLY in salmon, I think Im just done. It makes me sad. Vegetarian options for sushi IMO are not at all yummy. I also don't like tempura at all, so that's out.

Define "sushi". What is your typical order OP?

By the way, if you haven't read about PCBs in fish, this is a great link. https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/expert-answers/fish-and-pbcs/faq-20348595

I don't like RAW fish. I think something is fishy with you.

Unfortunately, farmed salmon can have high levels of PCBs. I think the site linked has recommendations about how often to eat it.

Actually, sushi-grade fish is frozen on board ship and parasites are killed instantly. If you're worried about parasites, always buy fish that's frozen on board.
Oceans ARE full of garbage, but that garbage is microplastics, heavy metals and other contaminants - not parasites - so this will affect all the fish you eat. Because contaminants accumulate in tissue, the problem isn't as severe in smaller fish that are lower down the food web.

When I was pregnant I felt this way! The smell of cooked fish was too gross.

I also prefer sushi, but if I eat cooked fish I prefer milder preparations (not fried or broiled) of less-fishy fish, and I'd really rather have cooked fish with a somewhat acidic sauce or accompaniment, like lemon, tomato, etc. I eat a lot of shellfish and sometimes salmon, poached or slow-roasted, which comes out very sushi-like in texture.

My 5yo feels the same. I like sushi better too but I like some cooked fish.

With you 100%. I can do breaded cooked fish but no fish filets (but I love sushi)

As someone who likes all kinds of seafood served raw, cooked, canned, or in any other format, completely agree. Raw fish is by far the most mild.
