If its travel, then the coach is paid. The coach can do it.

Tell me you don’t know what a team manager does without telling me you don’t know what a team manager does.

Most of what the coach wants to communicate to the team goes out via the team manager. You are composing a lot of emails.

Arranging dinner for out of town tournaments and making a team reservation, bugging the parents of kids who haven't RSVPd to game/tournaments, answering questions from parents about any and everything (carpooling to games, practice start and end times, etc), hearing complaints from parents about the coach or team dynamics. that's just off the top of my head. It's a lot of work.

I was a team manager for 3 years. It's a lot more than that and it was annoying and stressful.

There is more than just team snap, you have player cards, guest players, field set up, team benches , scheduling of games in EDP, etc.

if you don't have a team manager, then nobody is in charge of the roster, player cards, etc. so then you show up for a league game and you can't play. that's what happens.

Our team had constant field changes, and parents not completing paperwork so they have to be nagged. I'm not the TM, but guarantee it takes more time than you think.

struggles with technology? it's 2021; hopefully he's able to connect with a technology-infused culture and i REALLY hope he's not helping them pursue college

Our coach struggles with technology so having a TM has been a benefit. Agree not a ton of work besides loading schedules and games into TeamSnap. But also add coordinating with away clubs when hosting games and tracking team fees.

Simple, the Coach adds volunteer work to his resume!

Then the coach will offer up full playing time for their kid and position preference on the field.
