As a prior Metro rider, I will only be going to work 2 days and week and will be driving those days. Thankfully I have a lot of different ways I can go and don’t need to take a freeway. So Waze will be my guide.

None of this explains why ridership is below this time in 2020 on a year over year basis. It’s probably going to be an easy Metro ride for you, unless they reduce the frequency of service which is highly likely once pandemic funds run out.

Did you read the article you linked? It says that traffic has NOT returned to pre-pandemic levels.

I read it and it says the opposite?

"Seems to be gradually returning to," yes.

"Has returned to," no.

Thanks Bill Clinton. Now tell me the definition of “is”.

Correct, there is traffic, but it is not pre-pandemic traffic levels.

Sorry, but there’s no way it’s returned to pre-pandemic levels. I’ve been commuting from DC to Alexandria since January. It’s not as easy as it was this winter. But it’s definitely not back to winter 2020 soul-crushing levels.

And folks no doubt feel more comfortable driving in their own cars than taking public transportation. Pretty simple, actually.
