Cats get lonely too. It is a myth that they don't need us.

Np. If the 15 year is doing the same job you are doing why would you pay them less just because they are younger?

They’re cats, not dogs, they don’t need a human twice a day. Once is more than enough. I would do $100 for the week.

That’s a fine amount for once per day, but if the kid has to come twice, it should be at least $20 per day.

My teen just got paid $70 to come once a day for 5 days to look after 2 cats.

I pay that for a middle schooler to care for one cat.

Aw, but he’s sweet. My 13 year old did the same thing with a mother’s helper job.

I actually think it’s a good way to solidify yourself as a responsible neighborhood pet sitter. He can increase his fees as he gets older. But this neighbor won’t hesitate to recommend him!

How far are they coming from? I think $10-$15 is fair if not far. We usually go over that and do $20 for two cats. Nothing special, just maybe a crumbled joint supplement. Bonus if they stock the food puzzle and treat ball.

What people forget is the time/gas to get there and the time imposition that poses. I also want people to show up. We went on a two week summer vacation and the girl NEVER SHOWED even though she lived on the same block. That was before cameras, etc. so we had no idea until we came back. The animals would have died if we hadn't put down extra large bowls of water, etc, because it was summer.

When we had someone watch our animals and we paid $50+/day years ago. They were exotics with special needs. Our former roommate went above and beyond with enrichment and things just because they are great and they just stayed at our place. Totally worth it for the peace of mind.

I pet sit and get about $35 a day for a dog so for a 15 year old stopping by, I think $10 per visit is fair.

$30 per day, x7days =$210. Sounds ok to me.

We pay our teen sitter $18/visit, 2x/day but one of our cats needs medicine. Without the meds, I’d say $12-$15/visit.

Two cats, two quick visits a day for a week. $15 a visit seems excessive for a 15-year-old who probably won’t stay more than 10-15 minutes, but maybe I’m just cheap.
