I really don't understand what posters on this thread are talking about. What is meant by negative tests are required for "admission?" Ours requires a test if someone is symptomatic. This thread makes it sound like daily tests are required.

Our preschool/daycare has some bananas Covid requirements. I am mostly thankful they are open and my kid loves going.

A lot of places are closed or still have limited enrollment. If you otherwise like this place, I'd just get it done. You can get free tests through the health department.

I do not think this is a normal requirement, no.

With low infection rates, you are likely to get a number of false positives, requiring extra quarantining.

Are they testing every day? A test just tells you about a moment in time. A day later it’s already irrelevant.

Our daycare does not require testing.

The test is now simply swirling a Q-tip around in the front of one or two nostrils. Our toddlers and pre-schoolers are completely fine with it. There are no vaccinated children yet.

I’d be okay with the parents getting tested, and testing negative but not a little kid/toddler. What if everyone is vaccinated?

Since September we've tried all different methods including drive-thru in the parking lot.

^^ I will add that while we don't test the family members and care givers ourselves, there is a daily app the parents must submit that if someone tests positive in the household or is a close contact, then quarantining and even isolation measures kick in and the child may be required to stay home.

Ours has had the requirement since September that children and adults in the building must have negative Covid tests in order to be in the building. Our school nurse does the testing with parents' consent. This testing along with many other mitigations has kept the virus out of the building and we have remained open.
