Any single guy who is not an axe murderer and doesn't have major mental or physical health issues at 55 and has a job / retired is a super desirable guy in the female 45-65 age group. He will have no problems dating, and won't typically have to worry about having a child.

DH used to date older women. His first wife was 10 years older than him. He had two other long term relationships with women 5 years older than him. I’m 7 years younger. He says it’s just the person and whether he clicks with them. He also finds older and younger women attractive. Not all men solely worship younger women. If you read the fantasy thread, middle aged men seemed to fantasize about women their own age the most.

Sooo he’s dating people in his age range and at the same general stage of life (at 55 he probably doesn’t want more kids and is looking forward to retirement) which is what most people do?

+ 1 OP is hurt that her STBX is having an active dating life and that he's sensible enough not to be chasing super young women.

Maybe they have $$

No kids in the house and ex-husband's retirement or life insurance.

Maybe he doesn't want to have any more kids, and likes dating people his own age? Tons of single women out there in that age group, so he will have no problem dating constantly.

I dated a man who shared he used to always date older women. Even in his late 20s, divorcees in their late 40s, 50s. His reasons:

1 - No pressure for commitment
2 - the women had a high sex drive
3 - easygoing personalities
4 - had their own money
5 - no risk of pregnancy
5 - healthy and fit, met a lot of them at the gym


He had his own set of issues which we won’t get into. But those are just a few reasons from one person’s POV.

He's 55 and is dating women 10 years younger and 5 years older? That seems perfectly normal to me? Why do you even care since you're getting a divorce?

He may have always liked older women, but wanted a young wife to have babies and the energy to rear kids. I know a guy who dated much older women all of his 20s and early 30s. Married a slightly younger woman in his mid-30s. They divorced in their late 40s and he started dating women in their late 50s immediately. Married a woman who turned 60 on their honeymoon.
