OP here. Thanks for the input. I feel like we should give her something and will bring up a retirement account or bonus to her. Perhaps a medical savings account? And I’ll ask about dental and vision but her husband’s company probably provides both. We’ll be saving close to $800 a month.

Every job I’ve worked here has offered something for being on my DH’s insurance

This could save on taxes (over salary/bonus). Bonus is the worst as it is taxed the most for the nanny.

No it isn't. Withholding might be hired, but taxes wouldn't be affected.

With a SEP IRA, employer/employee saves on taxes.

https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/operating-a-sep
"You (employer) can deduct your contributions and your employees can exclude these contributions from their gross income. SEP contributions are not subject to federal income tax withholding, social security, Medicare and federal unemployment (FUTA) taxes."

Bonus payments are taxed really high. And additional salary is (usually) taxed the same as salary (for both employer & employee).

Not sure what you are talking about.

My previous employer gave paid me the money they had been spending on my insurance when I went off their plan and on to my husbands plan. It was like an extra $300 a month.
They said they felt obligated as it was part of my compensation package.
They were a very nice company to work for.

Spouse gets $2500 from his company for not using the health insurance (we use mine). Not the full value, but nice to have.

I'd split the difference with her. I've never worked anywhere that gave me money for not taking their health insurance (I'm on dh's plan)

I'd convert it to salary or annual bonus (her choice) as it is part of a compensation package.

We paid her premium in full as a part of her benefits package. Now that she doesn’t need us to do that anymore, should we offer her the monetary amount in salary? Bonus? Or nothing?
