I’d get something smaller with a backup camera for teens/new drivers. A crosstrek or impreza if you’re set on Subarus

We don't even know what year they are! I bought a 6 year old Camry with 85,000 miles and sold it 10 years later. It was still running and had only basic upkeep the whole time.

Most decent cars can last 200k miles or 20 years.

I agree that I would keep looking.

Why is that? 82k is not a lot of mikes these days. I’d expect to get years out of it.

Thanks. I appreciate the thoughts. I’ll go for the lower mileage.

+1
This.
Spending $10,000 on any vehicle w/160,000 miles on it would be a huge waste in my opinion. 🙄

I’d want the back up camera

I am buying a used car and don't know much about cars. The car will be driven for local errands (max probably 45 min trips ). It will be driven most often by older teens.
Comparing two Subaru Outbacks - same year, which would you choose:
- one limited (leather seats, sunroof and back up camera) 82,000 miles for $14,000
- one premium (cloth seats, lacks back up camera) 160,000 miles for $10,000
.
Both have two owners and no accidents, though both have some dings.
