Your expectations and aspirations for your daughter are very low if you think this is an achievement that merits flowers.

Yes, pre-k is their DD's terminal degree. That's why they're going all out.

cookie or ice cream or donut is better than flower. If I give my kid a $5-$10 giftcard to those place, he will jump to the moon, so happy.

I would say about 1/4 of DS’s preschool class got flowers or a balloon from their parents.

We did for my daughter because she adores that sort of thing.

If your DD is the type to enjoy flowers, bring flowers. Don't worry about the other parents. We're not people who want to overindulge our kids, but I'm okay with "extravagant" gestures at points that are important to the kid.

I remember my normally stoic older DD tearing up when DH brought her flowers after she got her braces off. We were proud of her. There were some medical issues that caused some painful adjustments and for the duration of the braces, she perfectly cared for the braces without any intervention from us.

Some do, some don't. Will DC like the flowers? Will DC enjoy feeling special and the attention? Or will DC not care? Whatever you want.. some bring them, some don't. Just have fun.

We didn't. But we also skipped the preschool ceremony completely because we thought it was total bs.
