I have both. The Dyson is so much less damaging. I have also learned to use the air wrap feature instead of the brush attachment and I like the overall result better.

Another vote for Dyson Airwrap. Crazy expensive but worth it. So much better than my old Revlon, does so much less damage and extends my blowouts to 3 days

I bought the Drybar Single Shot during the last Sephora sale to replace my Revlon. Absolutely love it and really like the round brush versus the oblong Revlon.

Agree with using the lower air/heat setting on Revlon. focus on roots with only quick passes to ends. Also Drybra has two versions, smaller one has gotten good reviews as an alternative to Revlon for finer hair.

I had to mess around with the Revlon for a bit to get it right. I've found it works best if I comb through a heat protectant, let my hair air dry for 10-15 minutes, and then dry it in sections (usually pull top section up in loose bun to dry underneath, starting with back, then gently dry top section starting with back.

I sometimes run a flat iron over it if I want a really smooth blow out, but usually I just do a round of Elnet and then brush through.

Also, if it's frying your hair, try using a lower heat setting in addition to letting it air dry a bit first. You might just be applying too much high heat directly to sopping wet hair, which is totally opening your hair cuticle up and causing frizz/frying. The Revelon might just be a lot higher wattage than your old dryer, and you need to protect your hair a bit to handle it.

My blowdryer brush that I have had for the last 10 years finally crapped out, so I treated myself to the much discussed revlon blow dryer brush. It gets my hair dry, but my hair does not look good. Instead of looking smooth it looks kind of fried. Wtf? So what's the other recommendation for a nice blow dryer brush?
