Some kids like practicing during the summer and playing, meeting players from other clubs, different coach style, going out of comfort zone, etc. The goal is fitness and having fun.

Our club is running a super Y team (more than one). Our costs are what it is costing the club. The club is not making any money above the costs of running the program. Some other clubs (cough cough Arlington) are charging a lot more but they have a lot of overhead.

The answer is very simple, if Super Y is not for you or your player, don't do it.

Our son has played Super Y several times and has always enjoyed it.

Agree. My kids play at a high level (now in HS) and not once did we ever do Super Y.

Lots of other training abs things- but not super y.

He had to tryout, so I’m not sure they put “anyone” on the team, but I do expect that there will be a greater difference in skill level than you’d see during the regular season. As others have said, the point of Super Y is to get to play games during the summer, have fun, and keep developing skills.

Yep this is why our club has tryout and the A teams is alway separated from the lowlife!

yeah Super Y forfeits are $500 so it puts the kids in some really productive situations.

The only positive memory from super why was when u16 DS played on the u17 squad and lost 4-0… The opponent only had one sub! We played with………. SEVEN. That’s all we had. SEVEN. held the game 1-0 until the last 20 minutes. Our coach thanked the boys for going through with it because if we had forfeited, our club would have been fined $500! The coach told us that after the game.

Nobody cares about super y. That’s why.

Isn’t it just for fun? What difference does it make?
